Okay so let’s be honest, If you are like me you write down all your goals for the New Year and then pretty much never see it again. In fact, you completely forget you had written any resolutions down in the first place. I have figured out a few ways that have worked out for me in the past couple years and I hope this will help you with your goal setting experience.
- Writing it down- Write down what you want. You can do this by journaling or by creating a list
- Visualization- Visualizing what you want is so important. I like to create a vision board to really bring the picture of what I want to life and then I hang it somewhere I can see it everyday. Here is an article that helps you get started in making one and talks about why it works: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/elizabeth-rider/the-scientific-reason-why_b_6392274.html
- Be grateful- you want to feel confident and grateful through the process in how far you have come
- Less is more- start with a few goals and you will achieve more
- Create a time frame- Having a time frame in when you want it done will keep you accountable
- Take action- What steps do you need to take to get you there. Break it down and use a planner to help you through the process
- Reevaluate your goals- What goals did you reach? Seeing yourself reach some smaller goals will help you build confidence, stay motivated and keep you on track to reach your bigger goals.

**Note- A tradition or ritual my friends and I have done almost every year on NYE is write down what you want to get rid of for the New Year and on another sheet write what you want in, then you burn the paper you wrote with what you want out in a fire pit and keep the sheet of what you want in. This gives you a feeling of renewal and truly starting a fresh year. Remember you have 365 days to make it yours!
What are some of your top Goals or Resolutions for 2018 and do you guys have any traditions you do for the New Year? I would love to hear!!!
Hope this helps and Happy New Year!
